An Introduction to Military Justice in Civil War Kentucky
Civil War Kentucky contributed troops to both the Confederacy and the Union. The latter contained both white and colored troops. Beverly Lowry created this guide to the military justice records of all three groups, with tables of statistics, the first major attempt to bring order to these often jumbled records. Among the remarkable findings: there were no cases of rape among the colored troops. Two photographs. For her work, Beverly was made a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Paul E. Patton. The Kentucky story was published 2002 in 8.5 by 11 inch format.
